FAQs

1. Enrolments

We have full-time and part-time places available now. Families who enrol part-time are asked to choose either a Friday or a Monday as a part of their package. We will work with you to maximise subsidised session hours to support your Childcare Subsidy entitlement.

2. Holidays and absences

Normal fees apply for all absences (including Public Holidays) that fall on a usual day of attendance.

Fees apply for sick days, however Child Care Subsidy supports up to 42 absence days a year with no documentation and unlimited sick days with the provision of a medical certificate or similar.

3. Child Care Subsidy

Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a payment offered by the Australian Government for eligible families. To find out if you are eligible for CSS, please visit the Department of Human Services website humanservices.gov.au.

Depending on your personal circumstances, there may also be other government funding available. Speak to Donna donna@sproutselc.com.au or your Centre Director for more information.

4. Fees

The daily fee covers all nappies, sunscreen, and all meals including dairy milk and soy milk, morning tea, cooked lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks. Our menu meets the National Dietary Guidelines and covers 80% of children’s daily nutritional requirements.

5. Get to know us with ORIENTATION

Spending dedicated time in the service before commencement is a great opportunity for you to get to know the educators in your child’s classroom. Over a series of 4 visits, you and your child can get to know our team better, and we get the opportunity to meet and talk with you. At the Centre Director’s discretion, they may choose to waive some of the orientation days.

6. Catering for individual requirements – allergies, intolerances and cultural needs

For children with health requirements, we create medical action plans to support their specific needs – this becomes the tool to communicate throughout the service. Children with cultural or dietary requirements are catered for individually.

7. What happens if my scheduled attendance falls on a public holiday?

Sprouts Early Learning services close for public holidays and as per the National Employment Standards we continue to pay our full time and part time team members. If your scheduled booked day falls on a public holiday, fees will still apply as staff and operating costs still need to be covered. The Australian Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) covers up to 42 absence days a year, which includes public holidays. Thus, unless you exceed this quota, you will be eligible for the CCS discount on public holidays.

8. Opening times

Please check the page for each centre for its opening times. All Sprouts Early Learning services are open all 52 weeks of the year. We close early at 4 PM on Christmas Eve and 4 PM on New Year’s Eve when they fall on a weekday. This supports our teams with their family preparations for the holidays.

9. What to do if your child is sick

The centre is not able to care for unwell children as it has to protect all children and educators attending the centre.  If your child has an infectious disease they will be excluded from the centre in accordance with the Staying Healthy in Childcare and the National health guidelines.

10. What does my child need to bring to child care?

We encourage parents to pack extra sets of clothes, things children can play in and be physical. On a cold day please pack coats, hats and a hoodie or jumper. If your child is toilet training please support your child’s dignity by including additional clothes and undies. Please bring a hat and a drink bottle. Please include your child’s name on anything they bring to the centre.
